PRRD leads NDRRMC meet to beef-up TY Odette Response

In an Emergency Full Council Briefing spearheaded by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) through the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Friday evening, President Rodrigo Duterte expressed his concern about the possible number of casualties that Typhoon Odette might bring in the hard-hit areas.
“I am not so worried about the structures… infrastructures of government. Ang takot ko is kung maraming namatay.” He said that he wanted to see for himself the damage created by Typhoon Odette.

Muling pinaaalalahan ang publiko na maghanda sa epekto ng binabantayang tropical depression sa labas ng bansa na inaasahang papasok ng Philippine Area of Responsibility bukas nang gabi at papangalanang "Odette."
Ayon sa Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), inaasahang magla-landfall ang bagyong Odette sa bahagi ng Eastern Visayas o Caraga sa Huwebes nang hapon o gabi.
Posibleng maging severe tropical storm ang bagyong Odette na maaaring umabot sa typhoon category.
NDRRMC pushes for Additional Emergency Shelter Assistance for TY Odette Victims

With the Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) rolling in Typhoon-Odette-hit areas, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council approved the recommendation to request to the Office of the President (OP) the provision of additional Emergency Shelter Assistance (ESA) for affected families in an emergency council meeting today.
The NDRRMC’s Shelter Cluster, in the said meeting, identified the provision of cash assistance and housing materials, and the setting up of transitional shelters as part of the government’s relief effort.
