OCD, WB reinforce collaboration, discuss partnerships

Office of Civil Defense (OCD) officials met with representatives of the World Bank (WB) to discuss areas of cooperation, the country’s disaster management program, and the on-going efforts for the victims of Typhoon ‘Odette,’ yesterday, 1 March 2022 at the National DRRM Operations Center.
OCD officials led by Assistant Secretary Hernando Caraig Jr. presented the government’s various programs focused on the pillars of disaster risk reduction and management: prevention and mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery/rehabilitation.

Muling nananawagan ang National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) at Office of Civil Defense (OCD) sa publiko na makilahok sa First Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill o NSED ngayong taon.

Various national agencies and regional offices joined the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) in speeding up the recovery efforts and aligning priorities for rebuilding following the devastation caused by Typhoon Odette in December 2021.
“Late last year, Typhoon Odette struck our country and affected regions MIMAROPA, 6, 7, 8, and 10 with damages so broad that combining support for recovery still seems challenging. However, this does not prevent us from delivering our best service and support that we can. These are the very kinds of scenarios that we have been preparing for,” said Undersecretary Ricardo B. Jalad, National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council Executive Director and Civil Defense Administrator.
