The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council through the Office of Civil Defense concluded the observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) with the official launching of the NDRRM Plan 2020-2030 and the awarding of winners of the NDRM contests today, July 30, 2021.

NDRRMC Executive Director and Civil Defense Administrator Undersecretary Ricardo B. Jalad in his opening remarks thanked the public for its participation in the NDRM activities and expressed his gratitude for the continued advancement of DRRM.

"Ipinapauna ko na ang aking pasasalamat sa lahat ng ating mga kababayan para sa kanilang pagtangkilik at pagsuporta sa ating mga isinagawang aktibidad para sa 2021 National Disaster Resilience Month." Usec. Jalad said.




The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council calls on its regional and local counterparts and the public to brace for more rains brought by the southwest monsoon or Habagat.

Typhoon Fabian is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, however monsoon rains will continue to persist in different parts of the country until Friday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

The state weather bureau also said that the country is currently experiencing mild La Nina which can bring a higher rainfall amount and winds.




The Office of Civil Defense will hold its first International Disaster Resilience Forum (IDRF) on July 29 to 30, 2021 as part of the observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM).

This forum serves as a venue for sharing best practices in the strengthening of disaster resilience; understanding the importance of governance, citizen-participation and global partnerships towards disaster resilience; and reinforcing cooperation between stakeholders.




The National Disaster Risk Reduction and the Office of Civil Defense expressed gratitude for the public’s support and participation in the Second Quarter Online Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill held today at 9:00AM.

Various government agencies, business organizations, the academe, Non-Governmental Organizations, Civil Society organizations, and the general public across the country joined the Second Quarter Online NSED.

Officials from different agencies and organizations gave their messages of support to NSED including NDRRMC Chairperson and Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, OCD Assistant Sec.
