Muling pinaaalalahan ang publiko na maghanda sa epekto ng binabantayang tropical depression sa labas ng bansa na inaasahang papasok ng Philippine Area of Responsibility bukas nang gabi at papangalanang "Odette."

Ayon sa Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), inaasahang magla-landfall ang bagyong Odette sa bahagi ng Eastern Visayas o Caraga sa Huwebes nang hapon o gabi.

Posibleng maging severe tropical storm ang bagyong Odette na maaaring umabot sa typhoon category.




As part of the Civil Defense Administrator’s (CDA) four-point agenda to strengthen the ICT for the DRRM services, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) through the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), led the PhilAWARE Project demonstration and handover ceremony Tuesday, December 10.

The PhilAWARE system is based on the DisasterAWARE platform, a reliable early warning and multi-hazard monitoring platform developed by the Pacific Disaster Center (PDC) to support disaster risk reduction and best practices throughout all phases of disaster management in the country.




A ceremonial signing of the revised Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the National Service and Training Program (NSTP) Act of 2001 is set to happen tomorrow at 10:00A.M to be live streamed through Civil Defense PH Facebook page and Youtube channel.

Officials from the NSTP Joint Committee composed of the Department of National Defense (DND), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), and Commission on Higher Education (CHED) will sign the revised NSTP IRR virtually.

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, TESDA Director General, Sec. Isidro Lapeña, and CHED Chairperson Prospero De Vera III will sign the guidelines. They will be joined by Civil Defense Administrator, Undersecretary Ricardo Jalad and Col. Ronald Jess Alcudia.




The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) through the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) will hold this year’s 4th Quarter Online Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on November 11, 2021 at 8:00 a.m to be livestreamed on Civil Defense PH and NDRRMC social media pages.

The NDRRMC once again calls on the public to continue participating in NSED and in other national and community-based preparedness activities and programs to strengthen capacities to respond to earthquake and other hazards.
