Recognizing the crucial role of local government units (LGUs) as frontliners in tackling disaster rehabilitation and recovery, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) continues to urge LGUs to join the recently launched Ready to Rebuild (R2R): Disaster Rehabilitation and Recovery Program.

The first batch of R2R trainees will begin training in April 2021, with the next three batches scheduled in June, August, and September. The sessions will run every afternoon of Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Stakeholders from different government offices, academe, Non-Governmental Organizations and Civil Society organizations, and the public across the country joined the First Quarter Online Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill today led by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council through the Office of Civil Defense.

"Napakahalaga ng inyong patuloy na suporta at kooperasyon sa ating layunin na pagtibayin ang kahandaan ng sambayanan sa anumang sakuna o kalamidad. Sa kabila ng pandemya, nararapat lamang na ipagpatuloy ang mga pagsasanay para makapaghanda sa lindol anumang oras." said NDRRMC Chairperson and Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana in his key message.

Thousands of netizens joined today's webinar on "Individual and Family Preparedness" launched by the Office of Civil Defense as part of its online activities for the First Quarter Online Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill on March 11, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.

The webinar was launched to continuously equip the public with knowledge on household preparedness amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), in partnership with the World Bank (WB) launched the Ready to Rebuild program today, 4 March 2021 live through the ZOOM platform and joined by representatives from local chief executives across the country, NDRRMC member-agencies, representatives from the pirvate sector and media partners.
