The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, its member agencies, and Regional DRRMCs met anew to discuss further updates on the track of Typhoon ROLLY and Tropical Depression (TD) ATSANI (international name), and the preparedness measures in place for these tropical cyclones. The Office of Civil Defense joins the world in the observance of the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDDRR) tomorrow, October 13, an event endorsed by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) as a means "to promote a global culture of disaster risk reduction."



To further guide government offices in the formulation of their Public Service Continuity Plans (PSCP), the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council through the Office of Civil Defense and Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation Inc. (PDRF) launched the Public Service Continuity Planning Guidebook today, September 30.



"As tomorrow’s leaders, the youth of today must be given adequate guidance and support so that their potential can be strengthened, focused, and realized as a key contributor in the national effort to build resilience." This was the message of Civil Defense Administrator Undersecretary Ricardo Jalad to the participants of “Youth as Agents of Change: A Call to Action” webinar held on September 23.
