Thousands of netizens joined today's webinar on "Individual and Family Preparedness" launched by the Office of Civil Defense as part of its online activities for the First Quarter Online Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill on March 11, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.
“The webinar was launched to continuously equip the public with knowledge on household preparedness amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ang webinar natin ngayong umaga ay isa lamang sa mga paraan upang patuloy naming maipaabot ang mahahalagang impormasyon at kasanayang dapat ninyong matutunan kahit na may mga limitasyon na naidulot ang pandemya ng COVID-19." said OCD Assistant Secretary Hernando Caraig in his welcome remarks.
Mr. Jeffrey Perez of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology in the webinar discussed common hazards in the house and school. To give emphasis on family and community preparedness, Center for Disaster Preparedness Director Lorein Dela Cruz and Department of the Interior and Local Government Director Edgar Allan Tabell shared measures to take in attaining household preparedness
Dir. Tabell explained the Pamilyang Pilipino drive where he shared reminders such as understanding the hazards, preparing the household disaster preparedness plan, and emergency bag, and joining community drills, among others. He also gave the steps on how to develop a family preparedness plan.
To conclude the webinar, OCD Director Susan Juangco extended gratitude to the resource speakers and called for continuous public participation in related activities.
