In preparation forPalarongPambansa 2016 on April 10-16, 2016 at the Province of Albay, the Joint Task Force for Security, Peace and Order, and Emergency Preparedness and Response holds a Mustering of Assets and Capabilities and a Simulation Exercise on April 7, 2016 at PRO5 Grounds and Bicol University, respectively. The mustering of assets was conducted to account for personnel and resources which will be activated on April 8, 2016. It was then followed by a Simulation Exercise for the worst case and other possible scenarios that may occur during the activity.
Gov. Joey Salceda attended the mustering activity and delivered his message to the hundreds of security personnel and emergency responders. He said on his speech that the JTF has a vital role in ensuring safety and efficient management of emergencies and incidents. Then, he commended the hardwork of the partner agencies which are also the partners for disaster and humanitarian operations.
Moreover, the Simulation Exercise conducted was aimed to test the capabilities and JOC’s command and coordination of the respective agencies. It was then successfully accomplished on a simulation of a mass casualty scenario for a bombing incident.
The Office of Civil Defense 5 plays a significant role as the head of the Joint Task Force SPOEPR as well as in the full implementation of the Incident Command System. PalarongPambansa 2016 is said to be a high density population while expecting 18 regions to be present at the Province from athletes, coaches as well as tourists.
A total number of 2,527 Security Personnel and 833 Emergency Responders are deployed for the activity.
