22 October 2016- The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council continues to assess the effects of STY Lawin, today, at the NDRRM Operations Center, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) through the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) conducted an aerial survey of the typhoon affected areas in Cagayan today, 21 October 2016.

Lawin has weakened and is now off the coast of Ilocos Norte. Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal (TCWS) number 2 is raised in Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Abra, Ilocos Sur and Calayan Group of Islands. TCWS 1 in Batanes Group of Islands, Cagayan, Kalinga, Isabela, Quirino, Northen Aurora, Mt Province, Ifugao, Nueva Vizcaya, Benguet, La Union, Pangasinan and Northern  Zambales. TCWS elsewhere are now lifted.

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council continues to coordinate with the Regional and Local Councils on the impacts of STY LAWIN. Currently, LAWIN has weakened in a typhoon as it traverses the province of Ilocos Norte.
