12 February 2018, Geneva, Switzerland – The Philippines announced at the global dialogue of humanitarian actors on Thursday, 08 February, that it will host an earthquake regional exercise this June in the country, bringing together international partners and local authorities and communities dealing with humanitarian response in a simulation exercise that will lead the way for the accreditation of the Philippines in the INSARAG External Classification (IEC).

12 February 2018, Geneva, Switzerland – The Philippines shared its experience in humanitarian financing at a global dialogue on humanitarian response last week, highlighting that it has taken measures to enhance the government’s legal and administrative framework and institutional mechanisms to meet the challenges related to improving disaster resilience.

12 February 2018, Geneva, Switzerland – Committed to the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction, the Philippines and the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR) vowed to maintain their vibrant relationship by strengthening DRR collaboration this year and in the coming years.
